And So Ravelympics begins!

February 15, 2010 at 7:19 am (Crocheting Fun, Other Artsy Fun) (, , )

Actually, it started two days ago – I’m just a little slow about it.  I wasn’t ready to post anything until I’d actually started.  What is Ravelympics?  Well, if you are a member of Ravelry.com, you already know.  If not, Ravelry.com is a website/forum for everyone into knitting, crocheting. spinning and felting. Ravelympics is an event that happens during the olympics; teams are formed, needles are pulled out, and work is started. The idea is not only to get as many projects done as you can, but to clean up some of those started and never finished. I know one of my goals is to finish a jacket I started in 2006!

Another project it to make a mad hatter hat – combination traditional  millinery with a buckram base that is mulled in muslin, but also to crochet the rest of it – and get wierd and creative.  I plan to cut the buckram and sew the form tomorrow!

This is what I’ve gotten done so far – a happy toast (Yay toast!) and a happy ice cream cone – part of my series of happy foods.

Wish me luck, cheer me on, and keep your fingers crossed for team Flaming Hooks to win!
